The latest Fantastic Four trailer has finally put the spotlight on its iconic villain – the infamous Doctor Doom.
Although the Fantastic Four have already been unveiled in the film’s awesome first trailer, there’s still the small matter of the villain – Viktor Domashev. Known as Doctor Doom, the Marvel villain has been notably absent from Fantastic Four promo material.
That is… until now.
Taking centre stage in the new Fantastic Four trailer, we get our first look at the iconic Marvel villain… and it seems he’s taken a fair amount of inspiration from the comic books.
Of course, Viktor Von Doom originally wore a green hooded cloak and an iron mask… and that seems to be the order of the day when it comes to Toby Kebbell’s new look. The muted, greenish hood certainly looks the part.
But is that a mask he’s wearing? And what’s with the odd-looking mouth and ominous green sparkle?

Unfortunately, that’s about all we’re getting for the time being, other than a dramatically-lit shot from behind which shows the hooded silhouette of the nefarious Marvel villain. And he certainly looks the part.
But let’s face it – we really need a bit more to go on.
Of course, Doom isn’t the only character getting some new shots… and this new trailer really gives each of our heroes chance to shine. We finally get a good glimpse of each of the hero’s powers… and The Thing gets a couple of new close-ups.
There’s certainly a lot to like in this new trailer… and I think it’s safe to say that Fantastic Four is starting to shape up as one of the most promising instalments of the faltering series to date.
Will it stand up to closer scrutiny?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But so far, we like what we see.
Fantastic Four heads to cinemas on 6 August 2015.
