The Han Solo Star Wars spin-off has added Ian Kenny.
According to Variety, the young actor, who had his breakout role in the recent Sing Street, has landed a role in the upcoming Han Solo spin-off film.
“Ian Kenny, who broke out with his scene-stealing performance in Sing Street, has joined the ensemble of Lucasfilm’s Han Solo stand alone pic starring Alden Ehrenreich,” they said. “Besides Sing Street, Kenny can also be seen in the Irish TV series Fair City. He is repped by Untitled Entertainment and United Agents.”
Ian Kenny is perhaps best known for the hit musical Sing Street, where he played the film’s bully and all-round tough cookie, Barry.
But who is he playing in the new Star Wars movie?
“Details about Kenny’s character are unknown,” they revealed.

Unfortunately, we haven’t got a clue. But if his Star Wars role is anything like that of Sing Street, it looks as though the young Han Solo may end up facing off against him. I think we can all guess who’s going to come out on top…
Still, Ian Kenny joins the likes of Alden Ehrenreich (who’s playing the young Han Solo), Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, and even the legendary Woody Harrelson. Quite a star-studded cast. And we’ve even got some idea of what the whole thing is going to be about.
Disney CEO Bob Iger recently revealed that the upcoming film will follow Han’s life from the age of 18 through 24. The film will include “acquiring a certain vehicle and meeting a certain Wookie,” he said. “You’ll also discover how he got his name.”
The spin-off stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, with Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca.. They’re joined by Thandie Newton, Emilia Clarke, Michael K. Williams, and Woody Harrelson.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will direct based on a script by Jon and Lawrence Kasdan.
The untitled Han Solo spin-off heads to cinemas on 25 May 2018.
