After much speculation, it looks as though Bond 24 – the next James Bond movie – may have found its Bond Girl… 29-year-old French actress, Léa Seydoux.
According to reports at the Daily Mail, the young, Parisien actress has already signed on for the upcoming (and as-yet untitled) Bond movie and will meet with fellow actors Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris for a script read-through next month.
“French actress Lea Seydoux will be bringing some heat to the next Bond film,” they explain. “She has signed up to play the femme fatale in the new 007 adventure, which starts filming in six weeks.”
“Before then, she will undergo a series of costume, make-up and camera tests,” they reveal, “so that director Sam Mendes and the film’s producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson can determine her ‘look’.”
Having appeared in a number of French-language films, Léa Seydoux is perhaps best known for the Oscar-nominated Blue Is The Warmest Colour. But she’s also starred in the likes of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Quentin Tarantino’s World War II drama, Inglorious Basterds.
Of course, almost nothing is known about Seydoux’s role in the upcoming Bond movie… other than hints from the Daily Mail that she’ll be playing a femme fatale in the style of other, earlier Bond girls.
Director Sam Mendes has already promised that Bond 24 will follow on from the critically-acclaimed Skyfall… and will essentially be the next part in the Skyfall story. But as for Seydoux’s look (and indeed, how she’ll fit into the film itself) we’ll have to wait and see.
Will Daniel Craig get the girl? I think that much is certain…
