Star Wars: Rogue One Video Reveals New Footage

A new ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ video is online…

‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ is less than a month away. That means we’re all about to head into the unknown as Disney’s first ever ‘Star Wars’ spin-off appears on the big screen. We’ve all seen the cool trailers, and we can’t wait to find out how Jyn Erso and the gang manage to get hold of those pesky Death Star plans.

And this cool new video gives us even more ‘Rogue One’ footage.

The new featurette jumps straight in with some behind-the-scenes footage, including shots of the iconic X-Wings, the new droids and even director Gareth Edwards behind the camera.

“If I’d known since I was four that I was going to be shooting a ‘Star Wars’ film, I would have planned it all my life,” he said. “It’s like the world’s greatest toy set. It’s a bit like being that kid again. The ‘Star Wars’ figures… Stormtroopers over here and then this happens, there’s an explosion. It’s been a lot of fun. It’s the greatest job in the world.”

But it’s not all fun and games.

Throughout a series of interview with cast, it feels as though there’s a tremendous sense of duty to the original trilogy… and of course, to the fans.

“You can feel everyone in the crew and the cast kind of stops and just takes that in,” said Felicity Jones. “And you remember, oh we’re actually in ‘Star Wars’.”

Of course, the video also includes a few new snippets of ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ footage that most fans won’t have seen before. Although some of it was previously revealed at Star Wars Celebration in London, earlier in the year.

‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ takes place just before the events of ‘A New Hope’, following a group of rebels as they fight to acquire the Death Star plans.

“These characters are real heroes who are willing to risk everything,” said Diego Luna.

New footage includes some awesome new action sequences, a closer look at the Rogue One squad as well as a hint at the sharp wit and humour of Alan Tudyk’s new droid, K-2SO.

‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ stars Felicity Jones alongside Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Wen Jiang, Riz Ahmed, Alan Tudyk, Mads Mikkelsen and Ben Mendelson.

Gareth Edwards directed the film based on a script by Chris Weitz, Tony Gilroy, John Knoll, and Gary Whitta.

‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ heads to cinemas on 16 December 2016.
