Star Wars VII Stormtrooper Unveiled

The Star Wars sequels are getting their own version of the classic stormtroopers.

April 16, 2015 by Ryan Leston

Star Wars VII Stormtrooper

Star Wars VII has finally unveiled its version of the iconic stormtroopers… and they look pretty awesome.

Thanks to the folks at Star Wars Underworld an image from the programme at Celebration in Anaheim has been released online… and it shows the new stormtrooper in his rather epic costume.

But will the new troopers have a better aim?

Star Wars actor Dave Prowse dies aged 85

The awesome new image comes straight from Star Wars Celebration – an official fan event organised by Disney and Lucasfilm to celebrate all things Star Wars.

Depicting the iconic stormtrooper’s new look, it seems they’ve had more than a little upgrade. Granted, the armour looks cosmetically similar to the old school stormtroopers, but while it’s cosmetically in line with the original trilogy, I can’t help feeling that the blaclk-and-white blaster rifles may be a tad more accurate…

But this is just the tip of the iceberg.

The event opens today in Anaheim, California… and later today (around 6pm UK time) they will host a special Q&A panel with director J.J. Abrams, as well as producer, Kathleen Kennedy.

But what can we expect from this very special event?

At the moment, it’s just about anyone’s guess… although the prevailing theory is that Disney will finally release the first full Episode 7 trailer. Thankfully, it seems as though we can tune in from all over the world… as Lucasfilm plans to live stream the entire event over at the official Star Wars website.

Star Wars: Rogue One Adds Ben Mendelsohn?

In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for further Episode 7 revelations as fans and media gather at Celebration.

And prepare for one of the most anticipated movie events this decade – the anticipated release of the full Episode VII trailer. After all, today is as good a time as any.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens heads to cinemas on 18 December 2015.

Do you think we’ll see the first Episode 7 trailer revealed today? What else will we find out about the upcoming movie? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
