Stephen King’s IT Gets A Terrifying First Trailer

Stephen King’s IT has unveiled its creepy first official trailer… and it looks as though Pennywise is creepier than ever.

March 29, 2017 by Ryan Leston

IT - Official Teaser Trailer - Warner Bros. UK

It’s official – Stephen King’s IT is terrifying.

The upcoming IT remake received its first official trailer today, and it’s already one of the most talked-about trailers this week. Mostly, because it’s just so bloody scary. The classic Stephen King novel has already appeared on screen before… but this time, it’s managed to look even creepier.

Starring Bill Skarsgård as the iconic clown, IT could be one of the hit horror films of 2017.

Stephen King’s IT Remake Ruins Balloons For Everyone

The trailer starts rather ominously with the disappearance of Georgie… if you’ve read the book, you’ll know exactly what happens next. Encountering the demonic clown Pennywise, we’re treated to a spine-tingling shot of the clown’s face appearing in the gutter.

And it’s all downhill from there.

“Derry’s not like any town I’ve ever been in before,” states the ominous voiceover. “People die or disappear six times the national average. And that’s just grown ups.”

Of course, it’s not the grown-ups we’re interested in.

At least, not in this trailer.

Soon enough, we meet the Losers Club – and it’s clear that they’re onto something. It’s also not long before they’ll start encountering Pennywise for themselves… and when a projector starts to go haywire, they’re obviously completely freaked out by images of the killer clown.

Definitely not one to watch before bedtime.

From here, it gets even worse, with Pennywise stalking the kids and appearing literally everywhere – an ominous red balloon floating over the shoulder of one of his intended victims.

The Stand Film Will Be In Four Parts

Clearly, the upcoming remake is taking bold leaps forward, amping up the terror from the original adaptation and taking the horror to whole new heights. It’s creepy, it’s terrifying and it’s going to keep horror fans on the edge of their seats.

And we can’t wait to see the full film.
