Terminator Genisys Trailer Reveals Huge Plot Twist

A strange new Terminator Genisys trailer has appeared that seems to spoil the entire movie.

By Ryan Leston 13th April 2015

The latest trailer for Terminator Genisys is here and this time, it includes enormous spoilers. You have been warned…

After releasing one of the most un-inspired, truly awful trailers in cinematic history, it looks as though Paramount Pictures has decided to go one better – by blowing the entire plot of the upcoming Terminator Genisys in its latest trailer.

*slow golf clap*

Arnold Schwarzenegger Slams Terminator Salvation

That’s right – the latest trailer for Terminator Genisys takes an enormous leap of faith as it reveals an earth-shattering detail that really should have been kept under wraps. And I’m not entirely sure it was worth it.

Along with plenty of new footage of Arnie, Jai Courtney and Emilia Clarke as they fight off the Skynet threat, there’s the curious addition of some scenes featuring a future John Connor appearing in the present day…

“How can you be here?” asks Sarah Connor as she’s confronted with a son who’s clearly older than she is. And it’s not long before the truth is revealed in all its spoilery glory.

Shot in the chest by Sarah Connor’s T-800 – affectionately known as Pops – it seems the shotgun blast didn’t quite kill him… and his blood suddenly has a rather metallic sheen to it.

“I’m not machine,” says Connor. “I’m not man… I’m more.”

And with a short fight sequence with Arnie’s T-800, it’s revealed that Connor is actually a new kind of machine – the very new Terminator we’ve all been scratching our heads about since it was first unveiled.

Arnie Confirmed For Terminator Genisys Sequel

But what does this mean for the Terminator timeline?

At the moment, it’s a bit of a headscratcher… as is their decision to blow the entire plot of the film in a two-and-a-half minute trailer.

“Whatever they did to John, we need to reverse it,” says Jai Courtney’s Kyle Reese. So I guess the question of what they do next is also kind-of answered. Will there be any part of the story left to tell by the time the film hits cinemas?

At this rate, I’m not so sure. And it’s starting to look like one mis-step after another.

Terminator Genisys heads to cinemas on 3 July 2015.

What do you think of the new Terminator Genisys trailer? Will there be any point watching the movie? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
