Will Hugh Jackman Be In X-Men: Apocalypse?

Hugh Jackman has starred in every ‘X-Men’ film to date… but will he appear in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’?

It’s no secret that Wolverine is the central focus of the entire ‘X-Men’ franchise. He’s appeared in every movie so far and is often the driving force behind the entire movie. But will that continue after the events of ‘Days of Future Past’?

In an interview with the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Hugh Jackman was asked whether or not Wolverine will make an appearance in ‘X-men: Apocalypse’… but it seems he can’t talk about it just yet.

“I have been speaking to the guys, and I’m not at liberty to tell exactly what’s going on,” he said, “which is largely framing my answer here.”

Of course, we can’t help thinking that Wolverine will once again play a major part in the upcoming ‘X-Men’ sequel… after all, Hugh Jackman has become the figurehead of the X-Men franchise.

But it seems things are still up in the air at the moment…

“There’s still a lot unknown about that, actually,” he told Horowitz. “There are some very exciting things about integrating the whole ‘X-Men’ world, including the ‘Wolverine’ movie. There’s some really cool things going on.”

Obviously, it sounds as though Wolverine will be back in ‘Apocalypse’… even if he won’t come out and admit it just yet. But with the upcoming sequel apparently tying into the wider ‘X-Men’ universe, could we see Wolverine return for another Japanese adventure?

It’s already confirmed that there’s another Wolverine solo film coming in 2017… and Jackman admits that he’s been “working on it really hard” with screenwriter David James Kelly. But what direction will the film take us? For now, it’s anyone’s guess.

Either way, it looks as though Logan’s story is far from over… and might even be the start of some interesting storylines from the comic books. After all, there’s been plenty of buzz for an adaptation of the Old Man Logan storylines. And I can’t help thinking they’d translate well on the big screen.

But will Jackman be back in ‘Apocalypse’?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but I can’t help thinking it’s just a formality.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ will appear in cinemas on 19 May 2016.
