X-Men: Days Of Future Past has already omitted entire plot lines involving Rogue, Professor X and Magneto. Now, it looks as though another thread was left dangling – a romantic clinch between X-Men favourites, Wolverine and Storm.
The pair apparently shared a passionate kiss in a scene which was ultimately cut from X-Men: Days of Future Past… and now we get our first glimpse at that edited footage thanks to our good friends at Yahoo! Movies UK.
As you can see from the video, the tender moment was shared between Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Halle Berry’s Storm just moments before the adamantium clawed hero was thrust back in time, into the body of his younger self.
And if you ask me, it was exactly the right choice to get rid of this scene.
Of course, comic books fans will recall that Wolverine and Storm have already got together in the past… but this would be their first real on-screen romance. And after the on-going plot concerning Wolverine and Jean Grey, it seems like a bit of a departure from everything that’s been built up in earlier films. Even if it is set in a very different vision of the X-Men future.
Still, it’s an interesting glimpse at the film that could have been… and after an extensive cut, it looks as though there’s plenty of deleted scenes to look forward to in the extended Blu-ray release.
Will they add anything to an already impressive X-Men movie? At the moment, it’s difficult to say. But I certainly can’t wait to see that scrapped Rogue sub-plot.
